Additional information

The Transportation Planning Division is responsible for improving the city's quality of life, by working to protect and improve the city's environment and natural resources and by planning improvements to the city's transportation system that encourage sustainable modes of travel, enhancing energy efficiency in public and private buildings, promoting sustainable energy sources and participating in similar regional efforts. Our services include:

Traffic Calming Program: We use physical and visual cues to slow the speed of traffic and improve safety. The City considers implementing these streetscape changes at the request of community members.

Bluebikes in Cambridge: Our bikeshare system, which is owned by 13 municipalities, allows you to borrow a bike for the amount of time you need and return it when you are done with your trip.
