Are you looking for a great way to give back to the community? Consider partnering with immigrant high school students in the Cambridge/Somerville community through Enroot!
Sign-up Information
Ages: Adults.
We are looking for mentors who live in the Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston area, and are currently in their junior/senior year of college, recent grads, or working professionals. We are especially looking for mentors who can speak one (or more!) of the following languages: Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese. Speaking another language is not a requirement. We are prioritizing volunteers who are bilingual and self-identify as BIPOC.

We accept most applications during the summer prior to the start of the school year. If a need exists, we'll sometimes accept applications after that point.
Cost
This Program is free!
Enroot is unable to cover the cost of background check services, which is required of all volunteers. We'll discuss this with you during the interview process.

This program runs during the school year.
Tuesday and Thursday.
Evening.
Commitment is 1.5 hrs a week! We typically run September to June.

Many immigrant youth face challenges in building a strong foundation in a new country. Enroot empowers these students through one-on-one mentoring, leadership development, college prep, and English practice while uplifting immigrant youth voices.
As a mentor, you will be pivotal in empowering students to build a strong foundation and to maximize their potential!
