Celebrate Juneteenth, black joy, and black excellence with a wide range of activities, including performances, a parade, storytelling, and more for one week (June 14-21) across Cambridge.

  • June 16: 
    • 12:15-1:30 PM, Lyrics & Lunch of the Lawn with Mystic Jammers Reggae, 449 Broadway.
  • June 18:
    • 12:00-1:00 PM, Yoga with Malaika, Greene-Rose Park 155 Harvard Street.
    • 12:00-2:00 PM, Crafts, Storytelling, and Sidewalk Chalk Drawing, Central Square Library 237 Franklin Street
    • 1:00-2:00 PM, Storytelling by Black History in Action for Cambridgeport, 155 Harvard Street.
    • 2:00-5:00 PM, Black Business Fair, 155 Harvard Street.
    • 4:00-9:00 PM, Community Ride (bring a bike, skates, or scooter), Hoyt Field 12 Gilmore Street.
    • Library Hours - Comics in Color Collective Sidewalk Chalk Murals, All Library Branches
  • June 19: 
    • 1:00-3:00 PM, CFCC Performance, Starlight 84 Bishop Allen Drive

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate the end of slavery in the United States. This Juneteenth, the Mayor’s Office, City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library, Margaret Fuller House, The Arts Council, The Cambridge Families of Color Coalition, and a number of community organizations have come together to collaborate on a range of events, including a parade, Black business festival, yoga, storytime and more! This year’s theme will be centered around Black Joy and Black Excellence.
