Additional information

The Youth Underground Arts and Science Fellowship, in collaboration with Catalyst Collaborative at MIT, offers a paid opportunity for Cambridge 8th graders, high school students, and young adults up to the age of 20 who have not yet started college to delve into a thought-provoking play from the Central Square Theater season, engage in dynamic workshops, explore meaningful themes, and create a community engagement event to spark dialogue in the community.

  • Dive deep into theater: Explore one of CST’s science plays, S P A C E, and uncover its themes and messages.
  • Collaborate with peers: Participate in thematic workshops with a mentor and peers.
  • Conduct research: Investigate questions of science and social justice raised by the play.
  • Create a public event: Work together to design a public-facing event that sparks dialogue and connects with a Mainstage performance of the play.
