We offer a rowing program on the Charles River for youth ages 12-18.
Sign-up Information
Ages: 12 to 16.
Typically participants are ready to enter the program by 7th or 8th grade. The majority of our summer programs serve ages 12-16. Participants must take a valid swim test and complete the Learn to Row class.

Registration for the summer begins in January and continues until a few days before the start of each session. You can sign up for the last session by August 15th. Programs that are full will state this on the website when families go to register online.
Directions: Go to Community Rowing website> go to Youth programs page (under 'Programs')> click on either Youth Learn to Row Fall/Spring or Crew League Fall/Spring> on the right hand side of the page, click on the sessions you would like to enroll your child in> Once you click on the sessions, it will redirect you to RegattaCentral> complete the registration/payment and once you click confirm you should be set to go. Email us if you have questions or need help!
Cost
$550 for a two-week session. (we do offer financial aid to those who qualify based on need).

Dates and Times
This is an ongoing program.
Most summer sessions run 5-days per week for two weeks (except weekend sessions). Classes are on varying days from 9:00 - 11:00AM; 11:30AM-1:30PM; 12:30-2:30PM; 1:30-3:30PM. We have 5 sessions this summer. Summer Sessions are as follows:
- Session 1: June 21 - July 3
- Session 2: July 7 - July 18
- Session 3: July 21 - Aug 1
- Session 4: Aug 4 to Aug 15
- Session 5: Aug 18 - Aug 29.
We host Fall, Spring, and Summer seasons. Fall season runs September - November. Runs everyday, weekdays: 4:15-5:45PM; weekends vary.

Youth Learn to Scull, Youth Skills Sculling, Youth Learn to Row Sweeps, Youth Skills Sweeps. They will learn rowing terminology, learn how to handle the equipment, and develop a basic set of rowing skills. And have fun!
We also offer a STEM to Stern program (in partnership with USRowing) that offers free STEM sessions (lead by our collegiate volunteers) and rowing for those enrolled in the CPS or BPS districts.
