The Work Force Program

We are a comprehensive after-school educational enrichment and work-readiness program for low-income teens in Cambridge public housing.
Sign-up Information
Ages: 11 to Young Adult.
Grades 6th grade through 12th grade.
Priority for all programs is always given to students who also live in Cambridge Public Housing. We serve students in 8th grade through graduation and up to age 21. Students should enroll in 8th grade, though we sometimes have room for them to start in 9th or 10th grade.

Registration runs August 12 - September 30. If spots are still open at specific sites, we can sometimes take on new students through early November.

High School Programs are at Jefferson Park, Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, Roosevelt Towers, and Windsor Community Center.
Dates and Times
This program runs during the school year.
Monday through Friday.
Afternoon.
The Middle School (6th-7th) Youth Program meets September 23rd - May 30th from 2:55 - 6:00PM.
High School (8th-12th) Youth Program meets September 16th - May 23rd from 3:30-6:30PM.
Programming does not take place on school holidays and vacation days.
Additional information
The Middle School Youth Program includes: case management, academic support, and post secondary and employment exploration.
The High School Youth Program includes: Paid workshops, paid internships, college trips, Matched College Savings program, and college scholarships.
A Comprehensive Life-Skills and Vocational Training Program for students and families who are residents of Cambridge Housing Authority. Holistic in design, the program provides participants with sustained networks of learning and support over a critical five-year span: from the sixth grade through high school graduation. We provide each teen with case management, academic support, post secondary advising, matched college savings accounts, and exploratory employment opportunities.
