Our overnight camp provides activities and intensive workshops in performing arts to youth from low-income families.

Application required

  • Specific dates
Saturday, March 1 – Tuesday, April 15

  • Tuesday, April 15 – Monday, May 19

Applications are accepted in three rounds of registration with notification of acceptance sent to parents roughly two weeks after the due date for each round. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after May 19. However, while spots usually fill up by May, sometimes a few spots open up before the start of camp, so you should still apply even after registration has concluded if you are interested in being placed on our waitlist. When we accept your application, we'll also send health forms and more specifics on coming to camp.

*New Camper applications must include one reference from a teacher or guidance councilor.

Additional information

Summer Camp activities including dancing, acting, signing, improv games, and more!

Founded in 2000, Summer Stars’ flagship program is a 10 day camp that brings together underserved students ages 12-17. Staff includes a talented crew of performers, counselors, and guest artists. Summer Stars Camp is often the first time these young people leave behind their difficult circumstances to discover their own talents, learn to express their own voices, and be taken seriously.

Participants experience the gamut of performing arts in daily sessions – from voice, acting, and dance instruction to writing rap and doing improvisation. Their week of rigorous learning culminates at a public performance—90 minutes of action-packed singing, dancing, acting, and movement that involves every camper.
