Additional information
Port Arise is a program from Community Art Center. The initiative formed last year, and began a way to support families living in the Port.
The goal is to provide support to our community, through uplifting families. Our Port Family advocate will work with each family over the course of a year, and follow them closely to help them work toward their goals. The intent is for the Port Family Advocate to assist families by connecting them to existing community resources that they may not be aware of. Also, to help them streamline & navigate some of the processes involved in accessing these resources.
The idea is to help the entire family; whatever that family might look like. Some families will be small, and others will be multigenerational. The assistance will be tailored to meet the specific needs of each family. As a participant you will:
- meet with the Port Family Advocate to establish your own goals for success!
- attend regular meetings with the Port Family Advocate over 6-12 months to help you keep on track and connect to resources.
- participate in workshops at the Community Art Center and other Port Arise partners to build new skills and share our collective knowledge.
- build a support network with fellow participants that continues after you've completed the program.
