This is a paid career exploration and internship program for young adults (ages 18-24) living in Cambridge who've graduated high school (or Hi-Set) but still don't know their next steps in life.

Ages: 18 and Adults.
Cambridge residents only.
18 – 24 year old Cambridge residents who have graduated from high school (or passed the HiSET) but are still figuring out their next step are elligible. These young people are not currently enrolled full-time in college, but they might be working in a low wage job or unemployed.
Wheelchair accessible.

This program pays participants $18/hour for their internships and workshops.

This program runs during the school year.
Monday through Friday.
The program runs January – April 2025. Schedules are roughly 24 hours per week.

Next Up is a paid career exploration and internship program for 18-24 year olds in Cambridge, who have graduated high school (or who have a HiSet) but don’t have a college degree and are not enrolled in school full-time. Next Up helps those who may be feeling stuck or unsure of their plans for what’s next.
Next Up includes:
- paid part-time internships (we aim to match participants to internships based on a career interest or a supervisor who could be a good mentor)
- paid workshops focused on career exploration and skill-building
- one-on-one career coaching focused on developing a plan to help figure out what’s next and how to get there.
Next Up will help these young adults come up with a plan, which might include going back to school, enrolling in a training program or finding a better job. The time commitment is about 24 hours a week, includes:
- 20 hour/week internship
- 2 workshops a week, each an hour and half
- 1 career coaching meeting a week
• Career Exploration (with interactive job visits)
