Next Up

Next Up is a paid career exploration and internship program for 18-24 year olds in Cambridge, who have graduated high school (or who have a HiSet) but don’t have a college degree and are not enrolled in school full-time. Next Up helps those who may be feeling stuck or unsure of their plans for what’s next.

Next Up includes: 

• paid part-time internships (we aim to match participants to internships based on a career interest or a supervisor who could be a good mentor)
• paid workshops focused on career exploration and skill-building
• one-on-one career coaching focused on developing a plan to help figure out what’s next and how to get there.

Next Up will help these young adults come up with a plan, which might include going back to school, enrolling in a training program or finding a better job. The time commitment is about 24 hours a week, includes:

• 20 hour/week internship
• 2 workshops a week, each an hour and half
• 1 career coaching meeting a week
  • Career Exploration (with interactive job visits)
  • Team-Building
