Harvard Brillante Academy Afterschool Program

Harvard Brillante Academy (HBA) After School program establishes the time and space for young students to develop skills and talents during school days. The regular program hours are 4-6pm, Monday-Friday (student early arrival available upon request). The specialty classes we offer are: Mandarin-Chinese, dance, wushu/kungfu, music literacy, drum set and STEM. 

HBA 特长课外班的建立为适应年轻学子不同阶段对艺术的追求和体能的发挥，为方便家庭周末得以有空闲时间度假出游，本园在周中特地设施多方位才艺课程。常规课程时间为周一至周五下午 4 点至 6 点（可根据要求提供学生提早抵达服务）。提供特色课程有：中文、舞蹈、武术、音乐素质养成、架子鼓和STEM。

Class/Teacher Intro: 课程/老师介绍：

Wushu/kungfu, a.k.a. Chinese martial arts, is an important part of Chinese traditional culture. Practicing wushu can not only strengthen the body, but also improve people's mental and psychological quality. It can exercise people's willpower and perseverance, making people more confident and strong. Enrollment target: adults above 8 years old and who like traditional martial arts. The teacher is Mr. Li, who has won many awards at home and abroad. 

武术，是中国传统文化的重要组成部分。练习武术不仅可以强身健体，还可以提高人的精神和心理素质。可以锻炼人的意志力和毅力，使人更加自信和坚强。招生对象：8+以上以及爱好传统武术的成人。授课老师是屡在国内外获奖的李老师

Children's ballet dance class content includes elementary floor movements, increasing rhythm and rhythm, small group dance rehearsals, multiple stage performance opportunities a year. Teacher Eva is from Beijing. Dance students who take all-level examinations. She is good at teaching children's ballet, Chinese dance, folk dance, and Egyptian belly gauze dance. Served as the organizing committee of the National Art Talent Competition, committed to allowing children and mothers to enjoy music and dance together. 

儿童芭蕾舞蹈课内容: 初级地板动作，增加节奏节拍韵律感，小组合舞蹈排练， 一年多次登台表演机会。Eva老师来自北京。全级考级舞蹈生。擅长教授儿童芭蕾，中国舞，民族舞，埃及肚皮纱巾舞。曾担任全国艺术特长生大赛组委会，致力于让儿童及妈妈一起享受音乐和舞蹈的乐趣

Drum set teacher is Quan Bian (Bruce), who is from Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. Graduated from Tokyo Conservatory of Music and Berklee College of Music, he is currently studying in the modern jazz music graduate program at Longy Conservatory of Music. Majoring in various percussion instrument sets as well as jazz drums, he studied under masters such as Neal Smith, Mark Walker and Billy Kilson. He is fond of Funk, Soul, Latin, Blues and other styles, and often participates in various music festivals and live house performances. He is the creator of Youtube channel: “BFunky Town” and Station B channel: “Funky Town”. 

架子鼓授课老师是卞铨Bruce (不叫卡栓)，来自江苏盐城，业于东京音乐学院和伯克利音乐学，目前就读于Longy音乐学院现代爵士音乐研究生专业。主修各种打击乐乐器集以及爵士鼓。师从Neal Smith、Mark Walker以及Billy Kilson等大师，爱好Funk、Soul、Latin、Blues等风格，常參加各种音乐节演奏会Live House演出。创建了Youtube频道: “BFunky Town”和B站频道: “放客小镇”。

STEM teacher is Teacher Fenny, who is from Taiwan with years of teaching experience as a science teacher in public schools, in American public elementary schools, and a junior high school science camp in the Weekend Program. She has guided the winning chemistry team of the high school group in the Taiwan Science Exhibition for many times. In 2019, she published the "Cross-Strait Chemistry Education Summit Forum: Sharing Examples of Application of Creative Inquiry Model in Inquiry and Practical Teaching". Nowadays she is committed to cultivating preschool and early education seedlings, encouraging young students to experience science through "hands-on" processes, and further carry out STEM/STEAM training.

Fenny 老师来自台湾，有在公校科学老师，美国公立小学科学指导、假日(Weekend Program)初中科学营的多年教学经验。多次指导台湾区科学展览高中组化学优胜队，2019曾发表”两岸化学教育高峰论坛: 创造性探究模型在探究与实作教学的应用范例分享”。现今致力于培育学龄前和早期教育幼苗，鼓励年轻的学生从”动手做”中体会科学，当探究技巧成熟后进一步开展STEM/STEAM的培训。
