Additional information

Founded in 1967, Fayerweather Street School is an all-gendered independent private school enrolling approximately 200 students in PreKindergarten through eighth grade. We are a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).

The Fayerweather experience is guided by four core values – the pillars of our educational approach.

  1. Fully knowing each child is the heart of a great education
  2. There is potential for joy in all learning
  3. Learning in community is complex and powerful
  4. Education must address the themes and issues of our time

Fayerweather is committed to developing a strong sense of community in which every member feels valued. We work together to examine the roots and issues of racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, and other prejudices within and beyond our school. Within our community, we expect that individual beliefs and feelings will be shared and valued, and conflicts will be acknowledged, explored, and peacefully resolved.
