Counselors-in-Training are part of the Youth Employment Program (YEP) where youth have fun at summer camp and earn $75 for completing responsibilities during their session.
Sign-up Information
Ages: 11 to 14.
Grades 6th grade through 8th grade.
Eligibility is based on grade level. Youth are eligible if they are rising 7th - 9th graders (starting 7th - 9th grade after the summer break).
Wheelchair accessible.
Registration required
- Sign-up is ongoing
- Registration starts Mach 27th and runs until spots fill, use the online registration system to save a spot in the shift/session you are interested in.
- Complete the CIT Application Form when it becomes available.
- Complete the Caregiver permission form within 2 weeks of registering online. NOTE: Your spot will not be secure until all 3 steps are completed.
- Receive your session and shift assignment via email
- Attend one of the orientations

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program at Agassiz Baldwin Community is the summer cohort of the Youth Employment Program. CITs earn a $75 stipend after completing their 2 week session. CITs can only sign up for one two week session. No custom sessions will be allowed.

Dates and Times
This program runs during the summer.
Monday through Friday.
We offer 4 two-week sessions this summer from July 1 - August 23. We have two shift options (both include 30-minute lunch break):
- Morning Shift: 8:00 AM-2:30 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 12:30-6:00 PM
CITs must be available Monday-Friday for their entire session. No customized sessions will be allowed. CITs can only do one session per summer.
Additional information
CITs assist Outback teachers as they lead kids (K-6th grade) in a variety of activities. As a CIT, you will have an opportunity to volunteer in the community. CIT's assit teachers running activities, help manage the program space, interact with and support campers, work collaboratively with other CITs, join the program on weekly beach trips, learn job skills, and plan and work towards personal goals.
