Additional information

Cambridge Youth Hockey provides a fun and inclusive introduction to the great sport of hockey for kids in Cambridge and our neighboring communities.  Whether your child is looking to learn to skate, learn to play hockey, refine their skills in hometown play, or join a travel team, we have a program or team for you.  Our home ice for practice and games is Simoni Skating Rink, located in East Cambridge.  Everyone is welcome at Simoni - come check us out!

Learn-to-Skate, Saturdays, 10:00 – 10:50 am

Learn-to-Skate introduces children 4 to 9 years old to ice-skating. Children are grouped by age, size, and skill to develop and practice basic skating skills. Progress and enjoyment occurs as our instructors offer encouragement, patience, and fun to each student.

Parent/Guardians must provide helmets for their children. Bike or skateboard helmets will do fine. Don't forget that it will be cold in the rink even if it is still warm outside! Warm gloves and a winter jacket are important. Snow pants are a great choice for padding and comfort.

Learn To Play for Girls, Saturdays, 11:00 – 12:00 pm

Learn to Play for Girls is a robust instructional and recreational program geared directly towards girls ages 5-14. Led by experienced coaches, we offer fun, competitive, age-appropriate instruction on Saturday mornings. In this program we look to mix solid skating instruction with the FUNdamentals of hockey, as well as incorporate a generous amount of small ice games. With the support of past grants from the Bruins Foundation we are proud to offer equipment to use for the season with no charge.

Instructional Hockey, Saturdays, 8:00 – 10:00 am

Instructional Hockey introduces boys and girls 4 to 11 years old to ice hockey. The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and fun through organized practices and supervised, non-contact games.

Each morning begins with warm-ups and hockey instruction tailored for young skaters. The favorite part for all of the kids is the fun scrimmage games that conclude each practice. All the participants are recognized for their learning and achievement, usually with a small medal and big smiles.
