We are a free gender-inclusive, noncontact, fitness-based boxing program held on twice per week in the evenings for Cambridge youth in grades 6-12.

No cost, All equipment is provided. Participants should dress for a workout, if possible.

Dates and Times

This program runs during the school year.

Monday and Wednesday.

Evening.

It's a FREE program held twice per week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-5:30 PM at the YMCA in Central Square.

Additional information

The Program is a collaboration between the Cambridge Police Department Youth & Family Services Unit and the Cambridge YMCA. The training is for learning the sport of boxing, and is available to boys and girls. Participants experience ranges from none at all, all the way up to professional.

It focuses on physical and mental health, self-defense skill building, peer mentorship, relationship building, family support, social emotional learning, inclusion, individual growth in a group setting, accessibility, equity, and (most importantly) FUN.
