Additional information
In August of 2024, Dr. Chris Emdin and Sam Seidel released From White Folks Who Teach in the Hood, a timely companion to the New York Times bestseller For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood...and the Rest of Y'all Too. This release is the white teachers guide to effective multicultural, anti-racist pedagogy. Designed for educators by educators From White Folks provides a compilation of over twenty powerful personal narratives from white teachers of Black and Brown children. Of the over twenty essays, several feature Cambridge raised authors, including Sam Seidel. This event will highlight the book and feature several of the Cambridge raised authors, reflecting on their careers in education and how their experiences growing up in Cambridge influenced them.
